How to Help
Three years after the storm, access to safe and affordable housing in New Orleans (NOLA) and the Gulf Coast still poses a major problem. Many evacuees are still living in trailers and temporary housing; jobs are scarce; homelessness is prevalent; people still struggle to rebuild their lives and cope with the trauma of their experiences. Although resources have shrunk and national attention has focused elsewhere, there are volunteers and organizations still working to rebuild these communities and offer important services to those in need.
Below is a list of organizations that are providing much needed aid in the Gulf Coast, their activities include spiritual care, counseling, rebuilding efforts and affordable housing. Please consider volunteering your time or donating to their on-going efforts.
